School
At school American students would learn a lot about current events and what was happening during the war. They would also have many air raid drills, in case cities were bombed. There were a lot of after school activities that were conducted to help fund the war. Kids would collect scrap metal, rubber, paper, fat, silk, and nylon for recycling into war weapons. Some schools even planted their own Victory Gardens to help feed the students and save canned food for soldiers fighting overseas.
